I haven't read it but have heard good things about it. The only one on your list I've read is #13, the Curt Flood book that was recommended by you :) I'm glad I read it, but it sounds like you need something light and bright after Anna Karenina, and A Well Paid Slave isn't light. I ordered Suite Francaise from the library a couple months back, but much to my chagrin, I discovered after it arrived that I'd clicked on the French version.
