ON MOVIES ~ Memorable Endings...

Feature Presentation...

MONDAY MOVIE MEME

Molly looked around for a weekly meme about movies and did not have any luck. So therefore she decided to start her own! Andy will play along as well - hopefully you will too. Leave a link to your blog post where you’ve shared your response or, if you don’t have a blog, share your response in the comment section at the end of this post.

This week's movie topic is all about Memorable Endings...

As we look back to 2008 and welcome 2009 most of our memories are from things that happened at the close of the year. There was the crash of the U.S. stock market leading to the current recession here and globally. There was the highly anticipated presidential election which created history for our country. There was the terror in India. The weather gave a white Christmas to places that don't normally have snow. Good or bad, we certainly won't forget how 2008 came to an end. Therefore it is only appropriate that this week we consider movies known for their memorable endings. Here are some of our choices...what are yours?

We had this discussion this weekend with my family. I can;'t stand movies that don't have happy endings.
I love the romantic endings like Sleepless in Seattle and You've Got Mail.

Oooh, this is a good meme! I have been pondering the question, but it is Monday and my head is still stuck in the holidays. The two that came immediately into my mind were The Sixth Sense (the ultimate twist) and United 93, which we all know how it ends but theatrically made me break out in a sweat!

A film's ending just makes it or breaks it for me. Just like with a book. If you're going to tell a story you gotta nail the ending.

This was fun. We added "The Usual Suspects" to our netflix list. Somehow that one passed us by.

Here's our list.

Seven, The Usual Suspects, Fight Club are my tops. And three of my favorite movies. I wanna date Tyler Durden. That is probably not good, right?

Ah yes - "Seven" - how did that one not come up until now?!

And shame on us for not mentioning "Sixth Sense" or "Fight Club" for that matter. Then again, the first rule of fight club is you do not TALK ABOUT fight club ;0)

Totally cool idea! I'm up way too late to do a post on this now so I'll do it here:

The Sixth Sense ... I never saw it coming.

Fight Club ... again, had NO idea.

Usual Suspects -- classic! Agree on that one for sure!

And loved the end of Thelma and Louise ... couldn't have been better.

Too chicken to see SAW. (HAHA! That ended up being a funny pun. OK, I think I need to get off the computer now!)

Great meme! I'll try to do it next week.
