ON MOVIES ~ Where The Wild Things Are...

Feature Presentation...

MONDAY MOVIE MEME

Molly looked around for a weekly meme about movies and did not have any luck. So therefore she decided to start her own! Andy will play along as well - hopefully you will too. Leave a link to your blog post where you’ve shared your response or, if you don’t have a blog, share your response in the comment section at the end of this post.

This week's movie topic is all about Animals...

This weekend we traveled to visit Molly's folks and left our kittens home alone. We are always a bit anxious upon our return to see what the furry devils have done to the house. For as much damage as they do, they are near and dear to our hearts (well, at least to Molly's). You could write a book about all the stuff these cats have done - and they are only a year old. But you could never make a movie out of it because it could never be replicated on the big screen - following orders are beneath a cat after all. But there are lots of movies where the animals involved (or portrayed) are terrific. Here are a few examples that we think even a non-animal lover could enjoy. How about you?

  • Jaws (one bad-ass rogue shark)
  • The Bear (little Youk & big Bart the Kodiak bears)
  • The Wizard of Oz (a cowardly lion, flying monkees & a little dog too - Toto)
  • Benji (the cutest little stray dog you ever did see)
  • Lady &The Tramp (puppy love despite pedigrees)
  • The Muppet Movie (Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Rowlf the
    Dog, Gonzo & his chickens, and Animal, to name a few
    )
  • Every Which Way But Loose (Clyde the orangutan)
  • Smokey & The Bandit (Fred the bassett hound)
  • Best In Show (Hubert the bloodhound, Winky the terrier, Rhapsody in White the poodle, Tyrone the shih tzu, and Beatrice the weimaraner - who misses her Busy Bee)
  • Meet the Parents (Jinx - a cat after all!)

    I did not have time to participate today, but I loved the penguins from March of the Penguins (2005), Hooch from Turner & Hooch (1989), Baby from Bringing Uo Baby (1938), and of course, Jinx from Meet the Parents :)
