ON FUN ~ Best Shoe EVER...

Do you see this lovely piece of footwear? I came across it at Kohls last month and fell in love. This is not normal for me. I hate to shop and I especially hate to shop for shoes. I have maybe 10 pairs total to carry me through all four seasons. But I was in need of some new flip flops so while I was there I did a quick check of the racks. These were sitting on display and the moment I touched the squishy memory gel soles I knew I had to try them on. They felt so wonderful to my tootsies but they didn't have any left. In fact, they didn't even have a complete pair remaining - the display's mate was missing leaving two left shoes instead. Unless I had two left feet like Gene Levy's character in Best In Show that wasn't going to cut it.

I tried on a few other styles just to gauge the proper size and scribbled down the product number. As soon as I got home I went online looking for them. Kohls only had a limited range of sizes to choose from, none of which fit me. I found them in one place for the same sales price Kohls was advertising but the shipping costs weren't great. So I went right to the source at Nike and would encourage you to do the same. If you create an account on Nike, the shipping on your first purchase is free. So it will cost you less direct than it would from a discounted vendor.

My little shoe box of joy arrived a few days later and I have hardly taken them off since. I have worn them while working all Memorial Day weekend on my feet washing my car, mulching the garden beds and weeding. I have worn them standing on my feet and dancing at two concerts. I have worn them while working the library sale on my feet for several hours. I have worn them to a recital and to a barbeque. I have worn them on more casual work days and I wear them around the house. My feet only hurt when I have to take them off to wear something dressier. They are like walking on pillows, like wearing slippers. It even reminds me of wiggling my toes in soft, squishy mud - in a good way.

They cost $28, come in a variety of colors, and are versitile and comfortable. All that remains to be seen is how durable they will be. I have been trying to wear them out for a month and they look and feel the same as when I took them out of the box. I don't recommend clothing, shoes or accessories because I honestly don't care about brands or designs. But I have told everyone I know about these shoes. So if they don't have your size or color in stock at the moment, it might be my fault. Sorry about that.

Are you trying to become a spokeswoman and earn some free shoes on the side? They ARE cute!

Ten pair to get you through the year is really something. Must be a guy thing but I realized when I read that that I had absolutely no idea how many pair of shoes I have. I just checked my closet and I have 3 pairs of work shoes, a pair of hiking boots, 3 pairs of sneakers and a pair of sandals. Most are at least 2 or 3 years old and most are still in good shape.

I then looked in my wife's closet. I would say she has less than the average number of pairs for her age and profession, but I still stopped counting after a few minutes!
