ON SPORTS ~ King Andy...

When you're good, you're good. There was just no beating Andy last week. And to his credit - he didn't talk any smack, gloat or become obnoxious in any way. Which is the complete opposite of how I would have reacted. Where's the fun in it all if you can't rub it in and do a little Touchdown Dance along the way?

As the games unfolded, Andy was making the most of the nice day by getting some work done outside. When he came in after the early games he started watching the scores come in and commented that he thought he was doing pretty well with his picks in the Pick 'Em Pool. I gave it no thought because he was in 98th place overall. Getting half of them right would feel pretty good to him.

At the end of the day I checked the standings and wondered if my eyes were playing tricks on me because there at the top was Andy's name. Not an imposter. Andy. And not only was he at the top, he was in the lead by a large margin above everyone else. Turned out that his lead was so strong, it didn't even matter who won the last game of the week on Monday night. He came in first and finally pulled his weight in the pool for a change. I came in 90th. Ack. So you know what that means - free fall out of 7th overall back down to the 20's. Andy's peak performance moved him up to 80th.

As for our big re-match in the Boys' League, he kicked my butt there too for the second time this season. It seems I'm one of the few teams he has no trouble beating. And nothing I do works against him. My managerial skills must be distracted by his handsome looks. Don't ask me. All I know is that he took no pity on his wife because - as he said - he needed the win badly. I was down by 20 points going into Monday night's game. At the end of the evening he'd won by 50. He's caught back up to me in the standings and now we both sit at the bottom of the league along with the Commish. Fantasy futility. I get to try my hand at the Commish again this week. One of us is going to be better off than the other at the end of the weekend. Let's hope he can lose to a girl twice in one season.

On the bright side, in the Ladies' League I won by 80 points to someone who obviously wasn't playing along anymore because she left key spots unfilled with her starters due to byes. I felt bad winning this way before, but after losing to such an opponent by 1 point last week I'll take any kind of win I can get. I'm tied for the lead in my division and matched up with someone with the same leading record I have in the other division this week. Should be a good showing and I'm looking forward to it.

So a round of applause for Andy's awesome week. And fingers crossed for me to get back on track this week. Root hard for the Brady bunch this week against Miami - I need the points!

ROUND-UP:
Boston Babe (Molly's Team) = Last Week, Won - Overall, 5-3
(modifying this lineup for injuries only, ladies league)

GiselleWearsThePants (Molly's team) = Last Week, Lost - Overall, 3-5
Brady Goes To Miami (Andy's team) = Last Week, Lost - Overall, 3-5
~head to head (Molly vs. Andy) = I don't want to talk about it (0-2)
(actively modifying this lineup, up against the boys)
