ON FUN ~ Extreme Makeover...
So I just wasted about an hour tooling around on this makeover site I came across through a sponsor link in a daily e-mail blast. Since I lost track of time on it, I decided you might enjoy doing the same so I thought I would share. It is called Daily Makeover and it allows you to upload your own photo (or choose from the gallery of face models) and then try on all different kinds of hair styles, hair colors, makeup and even frickin' jewelry - as if I have this box full of jewels to choose from!
But regardless, I was able to see that the cute Taylor Swift shorty cut she's rockin' these days is NOT the look for me. I need some longer tresses to frame what may or may not be a heart shaped face - I haven't quite figured that out yet. It basically verified that my hairdresser has created a nice cut and color for me which was reassuring. It would come in handy the next time I have some fancy party or event to attend so I could try out up-do's and some bling in advance.
I don't really wear make-up since no one ever taught me how to apply it. But Carmindy - she of TLC's What Not To Wear - has her own blog on this site and I'm sure if anyone can provide teachable tips, she can. (I love that show - another major time suck for me if they are running a weekend marathon!)
There are all kinds of articles, celebrity look analysis, product reviews, makeover tips and beauty news to read in addition to the ever popular makeover simulator. Some stuff is free, some stuff requires a membership. When I signed up for my 7 day free trial it showed rates of $30 for a year's membership - there were shorter terms available too. Since daily beauty isn't all that important to me, I doubt I will sign up. But the test run let me try on some new looks without the stress.
So if you are considering a change or want to test out a new look for a holiday party, go register for your free week trial and experiment to your heart's content. It sure beats wearing that "not what you intended" cut & color at a holiday party.
**This is not a paid or sponsored post. I just found it entertaining and wanted to share ;0)

Once upon a time, I had long, blong mall hair, and over time it got shorter and shorter. I've tried countless times to grow it longer and I give up. I'm going to go see if I can get inspired again...
Twice the thing has crashed my Internet! Guess the hair gods don't want a change!
I rarely wear makeup...it just seems so pointless. I would like a great haircut though. Short does not work for me, I have weird hair. I quit coloring about 4 years ago and let the gray come out. I'm so happy I did...it was costing me a bloody fortune to get it done. I just wish all of it would just go ahead and turn silver.
Note to Sandy: I love your short hair!
Cute!! I love this :)
Me too, no makeup forever, still living and seem happy
I like the red lips on your title, it provokes imaginations.
I'm of a "certain age" bur I still like to mess around with make-up and try new hair styles. I'm off to check this out. (I also love to watch What Not To Wear. It's so funny. I occasionally see myself in some of the people.)
I can just see me trying out a new hairdo on my bald head. Even if I did let my hair grow back, there would be a big bald spot right in the middle. But for fun I may try this and see what I look like.
This sounds like fun! I love What Not to Wear...sorry to hear they are having a marathon. It would be better for me NOT to know that! ;)
I love What Not to Wear too and always wonder what would happen if they secretly videotaped me for a week. I'm sure I'd be horrified! Since I am a Mary Kay lady it is expected that I wear make-up when I leave the house. Don't tell anyone, but that doesn't always happen ;) The In Style magazine website will do the same thing with the hair cuts. I wasted a lot of time there when I first discovered it.
That's a really cute site! It's going to eat up so much of my time--looks so fun.
I never learned how to do make up in a formal way either--but I learned a couple years ago just by doing and playing around. It's way easier than it looks, and fun, too! Carmindy rocks, too.
