ON FUN ~ Looky What He Can Do...

So in case you weren't aware, Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer will be on TV tonight at 8PM on CBS. And we would be very bad Bumbles indeed if we didn't remind you to tune in to see our namesake. To get you in the spirit, here are a few of our favorite lines - which we will be saying right along with the show. You do know who said each line, right? If not - you need to tune in or set your DVR and get reacquainted with all these misfits...

  • "How can I eat? That silly elf song is driving me crazy." (us too, us too)

  • "I'm cute! I'm CUTE!" (he really is)

  • "But that's what makes it so grand." (sadly, no one says grand anymore)

  • "Well, sir, some day, I'd like to be... a dentist." (glad someone wants to do it)

  • "And then...IT HIT!" (brrrr)

  • "No! This is man's work." (it really is a bit of a sexist special)

  • "A toy is never truly happy until it is loved by a child." (I vouch for that)

  • "Didn't I ever tell you about Bumbles? Bumbles bounce!" (it's true!)

My favourite Christmas movie is on this weekend. Sadly I will be missing your show tonight. But if you get a change to watch "White Christmas" with Danny Kaye, Bing Crosby, and June Allison .... that one makes my humbug heart melt.

I've seen that show over and over but I missed this line:

"Didn't I ever tell you about Bumbles? Bumbles bounce!"

I have to say I always hated Rudolph's voice because

    1. it sounds like he has a cold -- stuffed up nose, and

    2. he speaks. In a. Halting. Way. That bugs. The living. Shet out of me.

But it is a classic and I do like the snowman who slides through the snow. Remember the Norelco commercial?

I know who says all those lines and I have a namesake daughter to prove it! :)

I have it on DVD and the kids have already watched it about 10 times. I'm sure I haven't been paying close enough attention but I'll see if I know a few

    How can I eat?---Santa
I'd like to be a dentist---that one elf that wants to be a dentist
    Then it hit--the narrating Snowman
    Bumbles Bounce---Cornelius
A love the line, A toy is never truly loved---I can see the toys sitting around the fire on misfit island, but I just can't remember who said it. I want to say the Jack in the box.

have a happy time viewing the bumble tonight

Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer is my SIL all time favorite. She has tried to win me over over the years, not with total success. ;-)

I have been watching Rudolph since I was a tiny tot - and I am 45 years old now! I watch it every year. Thanks for the reminder!

You can bet your booties I'll be tuning in!! Gotta see the Bumbles! And I'll be thinking of Molly and Andy when I do!

I agree with LJ on "White Christmas". It's probably my favorite grown-up Christmas movie. Love those songs. One little point of disagreement though, the ladies are Rosemary Clooney and Vera Ellen.

"Sisters, sisters, there were never such devoted sisters........
Lord help the mister who comes between me and my sister,
And lord help the sister who comes between me and my man!"

    Talk about sexism! Whooeee!

I have loved this movie since I was a child. I have them on VHS and DVD. My family grumbles because I make them watch a movie just about every night in December.

I stand corrected by Susan. AND she's very right. Even as I wrote June Allison I didn't think it was right. Rosemary Clooney!! How could I forget Rosemary Clooney? And Vera Ellen - Hollywoods woman with the smallest waist.

    But I digress.

    NOOO I MISSED IT.

I was about to come and post to see if you'd seen since clearly you appreciate Rudolph.

The part where Donner goes, "This is Man's Work" is hilarious. It's the way that Burl Ives delivers it in the narration.

Don't you just love, "What's the matter, Fireball?" "G-g-g-g-get away from me!"

I caught your show last night. The husband made me do it. Now that I know you - I will never be able to look at that Christmas special the same way again. My ear couldn't help but pick up the word "Bumbles", and think of you.
