ON MOVIES ~ Soldier On...

Feature Presentation...
MONDAY MOVIE MEME

Molly looked around for a weekly meme about movies and did not have any luck. So therefore she decided to start her own! Andy will play along as well - hopefully you will too. Go to your blog and create your own post on the topic, linking back to us in your post, then come back and leave a link to your post here in our Comments section. If you don’t have a blog, just share your response in the Comments section.

This week's movie topic is all about Soldiers...

This Monday in the U.S. is Memorial Day which is a day to honor the fallen soldiers of wars past and present.  So therefore, we decided to dedicate this week's topic to those soldiers in film who live on in the big screen.  Here are those we found to be particularly memorable.  Share on your blog your soldierly choices, linking back here at The Bumbles. Spend your day thinking of or hugging a real life soldier, and don't forget to visit your fellow participants!

Do you have a topic to suggest to the Monday Movie Meme? Or would you like to guest host? Let us know in the Comments section or send us an e-mail.

Gosh, I never remember anyone's name. But the lead Whoever He Was in The Killing Fields, and the Jon Voight character in Coming Home, and the guy who gets killed right at the beginning of The Hurt Locker, and of course Whats-His-Name from Hamburger Hill... (don't you think I'd be just stellar on Jeopardy?)

I'm so glad to see that you included Emmett Smith on your list! With all due respect to NYC cop John McClane, this is Bruce Willis' best role.

I also managed to come up with one other terrific movie soldier, one you haven't mentioned ...

I can't remember the names of the actors but All Quiet on the Westhern Front is my favourite of the genre.

Looked at your profile list of films, you have some fabulous choices.

Love the picks of Tom Cruise and Gary Sinise. Sinise's character in Gump is one of my all-time faves! Glad to be back. Enjoy your meme so, so much :) Happy Memorial Day! My choices are HERE.

I'm with Jill/Rhapsody - all those guys were great in all those movies but I can never remember their names. Except for John Wayne, that is..

Coming Home was a great movie, my favorite Jon Voight role. In Country was definitely Bruce Willis' best dramatic role. Robert Duvall in Platoon and in M*A*S*H.
