MONDAY MOVIE MEME
Molly looked around for a weekly meme about movies and did not have any luck. So therefore she decided to start her own! Andy will play along as well - hopefully you will too. Go to your blog and create your own post on the topic, linking back to us in your post, then come back and leave a link to your post here in our Comments section. If you don’t have a blog, just share your response in the Comments section.
This week's movie topic is all about Child Actors...
Do you think Winona Ryder was jealous of Anna Paquin when she lost to her for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 1993? She shouldn't have been, since Winona grew up acting in the movies as a young adult herself. There's no shame in losing out to a kid. Especially when they have that kind of talent. Here are some of our favorite roles that child actors have portrayed. Share on your blog the roles you've enjoyed from the younger set, linking back here at The Bumbles. And don't forget to visit your fellow participants!
- Abigail Breslin as Olive Hoover in Little Miss Sunshine (2006)
- Jonathan Lipnicki as Ray Boyd in Jerry Maguire (1996)
- Mary Badham as Scout in To Kill A Mockingbird (1962)
- River Phoenix as Chris Chambers in Stand By Me (1986)
- Elijah Wood as Mark Evans in The Good Son (1993)

I'd have to add Dakota Fanning to the list--I thought she was great in "Uptown Girls," a movie not much of anyone saw but she did a marvelous job as a rich little girl dealing with a father that is dying in her home.
mine's up!

my post is up in Chris Chronicles
I so love Abigail Breslin! She played a blind girl terrorized on NCIS and she was so vulnerable and real I could barely stand it (even though I knew Gibbs would never let anything happen to her). I wish I had gotten to see her onstage performance as Helen Keller. And of course anyone who saw Scout loved her.
But I came up with another child actress whose work has been seen by generations already ... and will be enjoyed for decades to come ...
I had so many listed originally...there are so many great child performances out there! But I didn't want to copy you, and I didn't want to go with the obvious Oscar winners. Here are mine:

Great topic! Loved the kid in Jerry Maguire! Little Miss Sunshine was a terrific movie and Abigail Breslin was amazing!

I always love you guys' memes! Mine is HERE.
Didn't do this meme,
but my favorite move with kids (and some went places, others not as much) was the movie Stand By Me. The entire move was the group of boys, but such an adult movie (I mean it was originally written by Steven King!).

Love your answers and I'm with you on swimming since I don't know how to snowboard but I do enjoy a good book, a warm fire, and watching my kids ski!
Elijah Wood is my all time favorite child actor :) He was great in everything.
As for my favorite "child" performance? That blonde girl in The Bad Seed. She was terrifying.
I forgot about Elijah Wood. He was so good in that movie!
