ON BLOGGING ~ Just Curious...

BlogAnon: Joy of Confession

Image by Cool Text: Logo and Graphics Generator

Welcome to our weekly BlogAnon meeting where we confess a particular blogging sin and turn to you for support, suggestions and that blogging bond so we know we're not all alone. Don't be shy. Read along and let us know if you identify with us this week.

Two quick questions for you this week. One I am sure you have been asked many times before. The second, perhaps not. I'm curious to see your responses and if they get you thinking...

WHY DID YOU START BLOGGING?

WHY DO YOU KEEP BLOGGING?

I was out of work with a sports knee injury. I was online just looking around Google's apps when I came across blogger. I had no idea what it was, looked into it, and the rest is history.

I'm hooked. It's addicting.

I started blogging with my family as a way to share news and keep in touch. Some of my nieces followed a blog called Nie Nie--the ongoing story of a woman and her husband who survived a fatal airplane crash and were in coma's. The blog was maintained by her sister until the day she could return to do it herself. The journey has been inspirational. That was my step into the world of public blogging. From there I started clicking on people who commented on her blog. I soon found there was a whole cyber world of people to get aquainted with. I liked reading about these people and following their stories, and that is still my favorite part of blogging.

Started blogging because it is a great creative outlet for writing music. I was singing and doing some lyrics for a band at the time. I was always told to write something every single day, even if nothing really happened that day because it keeps you thinking and can help when writing songs.

I keep blogging for no other reason than I like to write. I like to journal I like to get things on paper. My blog is/and has always been for me. If other people happen to enjoy it along the way then Yay!! If not, it's still what I want to write when I want to write about it :)

It seemed like a fun thing to do :-)

Because it's fun.

See? I'm all about the fun.

To practice writing and have a place to keep track of what I read? Because I got a wild hair?

And why do I continue? Well, probably because of y'all. All you nice people out there that I call my friends. There are days that I question myself though. Doesn't any of this mean anything? Why am I knocking myself out? I get in these funks but I keep on banging out these reviews...

I started my blog because I like to read and write. I was reading blogs for hours every day and thoroughly enjoying it. My son convinced me to join in with a blog of my own.

As Sandy mentioned, I have days when I question why I am so obsessed with blogging. But, overall, it would be a big hole in my day if I didn't write on my blog and/or comment on someone else's blog. Visiting with people and participating in the blogging community is so enjoyable that I stay at it.

I started to blog because I like to write and I thought it would be fun. I confess sometimes I don't know why I continue...

I started so I could write for the public. Til then I wrote and had a problem with letting anyone read it. That's not a problem any more because I don't have time to write fiction anymore!
Well, I think I continue because I like touching base with ya'll. It's such a lovely group I love being a part of it and calling bloggers friends.
Since Gage arrived I make it a point to continue because it's some sense of normalcy for me. The rest of my day isn't really my own.

I started blogging because of my love of reading never realizing how many great people I would meet and the fantastic books I've read!!

I keep blogging because I'm having fun..when it stops being fun I will stop blogging!

I took a creative writing class and we posted our stories on a class blog (it is still in my profile). It was a good method to putting your writings out there for comments--both good and bad, although we really focused on positive reinforcement. I finally got brave to do my own blog and have my own forum. That was 850+ posts ago!

I continue because I have really found an outlet for my internal voice. I write about nearly everything and anything that I find happy, funny, sad, or bad in my life--although I have found it best to filter a lot of things or you get really nasty comments. And I also like the pallies--the friendships I have made with my fellow bloggers.

Well I'm curious about YOUR answer. Why did you start and why do you keep going? I started because I naively thought a recipe blog would help me organize my gazillions of recipes (HA!) and I'm not quite sure why I keep going other than I kinda like it. Now how about you guys?

I had taken a buyout from my last company and had been off work for months. I discovered other book blogs when I went looking for book reviews to get ideas for what to read next. I started thinking that a book blog of my own would be a great way to capture my thoughts on what I read. I originally thought my friends and family would read it. I never really imagined that anyone else would ever care. I keep blogging because I love the community so much and want to be a part of it; not just as a reader but also as a writer.

I started blogging because two of my friends had blogs. After reading theirs and commenting, I wanted to join in on the fun. I never imagined anyone else would read my little corner of the interwebs or that I would find so many awesome people. It is definitely the community that keeps me around. I also like blogging because I like to write a keep a record of things. And for some reason having it in a blog space feels so much neater than solely keeping a journal. It is all in one place and so organized. And pretty. I like pretty.
