ON MOVIES ~ A Change Is In The Air...

Feature Presentation...
MONDAY MOVIE MEME

Molly looked around for a weekly meme about movies and did not have any luck. So therefore she decided to start her own! Andy will play along as well - hopefully you will too. Go to your blog and create your own post on the topic, linking back to us in your post, then come back and leave a link to your post here in our Comments section. If you don’t have a blog, just share your response in the Comments section.

This week's movie topic is all about Transformed Characters...

With the New Year upon us, it is common to make resolutions hoping to change something for the better in our lives. Resolutions don't always stick, but when they do, the improvements are worth the effort. The movies are always giving us characters who undergo some sort of change during the story's arc. These changes aren't always for the better - that's what makes them so compelling. Here are a few characters we came up with who made a distinct change during their time on screen. Share on your blog characters from film who have transformed, linking back here at The Bumbles. And don't forget to visit your fellow participants!
Do you have a topic to suggest to the Monday Movie Meme? Or would you like to guest host? Let us know in the Comments section or send us an e-mail.

I'd like to recommend Jem and Scout from "To Kill a Mockingbird". They certainly transformed during the movie. I actually named my mustang filly, Scout, after the girl's character in the movie. My Scout is intelligent, stubborn, headstrong, and a leader, just like Scout in the book and movie. Hubby is still looking for his Jem, but I have my Scout!

What a great topic this week! Your inclusion of Falling Down gave me an idea about which one to list myself ...

great topic this week. I'll have to say I agree on the Pulp Fiction pick. That was a fascinating film. I also love "It's a Wonderful Life" and love the change in George Bailey. It was challenging but I came up with three movies. Happy Monday :)

Great topic! I had to think for a bit about this one & I'm still not totally satisfied with my choices. I know there are other good characters out there!

Your choices of Jules Winnfield and the cast of Requiem for a Dream are brilliant ones! And Falling Down is a great movie!

A possible topic could be best actor/directors.

Jinkies! I've never heard of Requiem for a Dream--what's it about (no, seriously).
Neat topic!

I've only seen two of your choices, but I would say that George (It's a Wonderful Life) transforms and then transforms again, making a full circle.

I'm so lame I couldn't think of a single one. Sheesh! :)

I haven't actually seen "Despicable Me" but I have listened to it at least five times while I cart my kids around town -- it's in the DVD player in the car.

I think Gru is an excellent example of a ruthless villain who has a change of heart as he gets to know the three girls he adopts.

He is also voiced by Steve Carrell which is fun, however, it's hard to really hear his voice since he uses a heavy accent.

p.s. I was so thrilled when I figured this out because I never watch movies anymore unless they're the movies my kids watch in the van. So immediately I figured I couldn't comment until I realized, yesterday, that Gru fits the bill.

I'm so proud of myself.
