ON MOVIES ~ Feel Good Flicks...

Feature Presentation...

MONDAY MOVIE MEME

Molly looked around for a weekly meme about movies and did not have any luck. So therefore she decided to start her own! Andy will play along as well - hopefully you will too. Leave a link to your blog post where you’ve shared your response or, if you don’t have a blog, share your response in the comment section at the end of this post.

This week's movie topic is all about Feel Good Flicks...

Since shoveling about 18" of snow the last few days left Andy exhausted and cold,

Molly thought an appropriate topic this week would be movies that warm your heart. Here are some of our choices...what are yours?

Hi--

I was just stopping by to check out your blog ... and I can tell that I will be back! What a great idea for getting your post ideas -- I LOVE IT!

And I wanted to thank you for visiting my blog and playing my Children's Book Quiz.

Let's see ... Feel Good Movies. How about:

1. Wall-E (we just discovered this and though it has a bit of a anti-trash consumer message, it is just delightful and deeply touching)
2. Kung Fu Panda (can you tell I have a kid? This was a totally fun movie and a great message)
3. Harold and Maude (I must have watched this 20 times when I was younger ... there are a lot of weird parts and some dark parts but I think the ultimate message is about choosing life and being happy. Very quirky film)
4. This Is Spinal Tap -- this mockumentary was the first of all the great hilarious ones by Christopher Guest. Never fails to make me laugh. "It goes to 11."
5. Bull Durham. I just love this film and it (and Kevin Costner) makes me feel good!

Not your most common choices I'm sure!

NAT: I have never seen or even heard of Truly, Madly, Deeply. Will have to check that out. All of your others are favorites - though While You Were Sleeping is not the first thing to come to mind for "heart warming" - I do love the ending - ah, revenge.

JENNERS: I haven't seen the animated ones yet. Heard good things about Wall-E and the Panda one - with Jack Black right? Haven't seen Harold & Maude in forever - great choice. Bull Durham is the best sports movie in my opinion. And Spinal Tap is an all time favorite - gotta love Stonehenge.

Oh, are you an Alan Rickman fan at all? If you like him, you'll LOVE Truly, Madly, Deeply!

While You Were Sleeping warms my heart, since it's a sappy, predictable love story!

Any movie that makes me laugh until I cry makes my "feel good flicks" list :) My absolute favorite right now is Elf.

NINA: I haven't seen the Notebook - but I did really like the book - sad but sweet.

ALYCE: My Big Fat Greek Wedding is one of our favorites! Excellent choice.

JULIE: Are we losers because we haven't seen Elf yet? Something needs to be done about that.
