Feature Presentation...
MONDAY MOVIE MEME
Molly looked around for a weekly meme about movies and did not have any luck. So therefore she decided to start her own! Andy will play along as well - hopefully you will too. Go to your blog and create your own post on the topic, linking back to us in your post, then come back and leave a link to your post here in our Comments section. If you don’t have a blog, just share your response in the Comments section.
This week's movie topic is all about Highly Quotable Movies...
This past week marked the 30th anniversary of one of our favorite movies. It is probably remembered fondly because it is so quotable. Like a great Seinfeld episode, we find ourselves using lines from this particular film in everyday conversation. And that's why whenever it comes on, we can't help but watch with glee as we rattle off all the great lines with the actors. Here are some of our favorite lines from this classic in the Bumbles house - do you know which movie it is? Share on your blog lines from the movie you most like to quote or a list of those you quote from often, linking back here at The Bumbles. And don't forget to visit your fellow participants!
- "A Cinderella story..."
- "It's in the hole!"
- "You scratched my anchor!"
- "Doodie!!!!"
- "Be the ball."
- "Lets go - while we're young!"
- "Do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga."
- "Will you come loofah my stretchmarks?"
- "Well - we're waiting!"
- "Oh Billy Billy Billy..."
- "Noonan!"
Do you have a topic to suggest to the Monday Movie Meme? Or would you like to guest host? Let us know in the Comments section or send us an e-mail.

I love best movie quotes! This site from AMC is one of my favorites ever!
http://www.filmsite.org/greatfilmquotes.html
The most quoted movies around my house are The Princess Bride and The Blues Brothers, which may be the ONLY thing those two movies have in common :-).
I didn't have a clue. When I looked it up, I wondered why I didn't have a clue.
Malcolm
I would never have guessed that one! Florinda mentioned two of our faves ("We're on a mission from God" comes up a lot), but the most-often quoted lines here are: "Help!Help! I'm being repressed!" "I'm not dead yet" and "A shrubbery!"
Obvious.
The picture makes me think it's Caddyshack.
Mine is posted! Quotes from Madagascar. http://www.forgetfulone.com/2010/08/monday-movie-meme.html
This was so much fun! Here is mine. http://dishwaterdreams.com/2010/08/10-most-quotable-movies/
I know I wouldn't have gotten it unless I saw the photo of the gopher.
How about, "You can't handle the truth!"
"You're g-d right I ordered the code!"
But my absolute favorite movie for quoting has a few of these beauties.
"What country you from? They speak English in what?!"
"Zed's dead, baby. Zed's dead."
"No trial, no jury. Straight to execution."
I use that last one almost daily to express frustration.
My favorite Caddyshack quote: "So I got that going for me ... which is good."
Movie quotes are a favorite of mine. Don't know how I'll play this one this week, but I know I'll enjoy it!
Uncle Buck is one of my faves and for some reason, I love to go around saying, "Holy smokes, he's cooking our garbage." Hubby who does most of the cooking is not appreciative! For people that annoy us, we just look at each other and say "should we shoot them?" in our best Fiona accent. I know, that's a tv show not a movie.
Have a great week, Molly!
Great theme, Molly! I love quoting movies. And, of course Caddyshack has a ton of them. Here's mine:

I have a friend whose husband and brothers quote Caddyshack nearly 24/7 at reunions. They watch the movie and know every line. It was hard to pin down just one movie, but settled with good old Marge.

"better out than in, I always say"--I like to quote Shrek :)
Ah, love Caddyshack :)
My favorite movie to quote is up!
I had fun with this one, and it was easy this time! Haha! View my post HERE.
Someone mentioned mine already... Princess Bride. Inconceivable!
I'm playing catch up because I missed to post this on time. Here's mine. XD
I am doing a Circle Journal of Quotes. One theme was Movies! I just completed mine.
Here are my favorites:
"I'm not a smart man but I know what love it" -Forrest Gump
"Whats with today, today?" -Empire Records
"This is impossible"
"Only if you believe it is"
-Alice in Wonderland
"Theres no point to any of this. It's all just a random lottery of meaningless tradegy and a series of near escapes. So I take pleasure in the details...a quarter pounder with cheese-those are good, the sky about ten minutes before it starts to rain, the moment when you laughter becomes a cackle..See this is all we need...a couple of smokes, a cup of coffee and a little bit of conversation. You and me and five bucks." -Reality Bites
"Of all the gin joints, in all the towns, in all the world, she walks into mine" -Casablanca
"I really don't know what kind of girl I am" -Juno
"I gave her my heart and she gave me a pen"-Say Anything
I have an idea for a movie meme, but I won't be around either this Sunday or next Sunday nights, so I bequeath it to you. I looked at the AFI's list of 50 screen legends and got to wondering, who that we see at the multiplex will be remembered 25 years or more years from now? Leo? Johnny? Julia? The Twilight kids?
I missed this week :( I'm not sure what movie I'd choose. Now if Seinfeld were made into a movie it would be a no brainer.
I haven't seen Caddyshack in 20 years.
